The story never meant to focus directly on a horse, or on a dedicated jockey, or on loyal owners, or on the support from the public at large… the story’s focus was on how all involved defined spirit. How the same spirit that drives toward high profile successes also gives fight for as simple as a fading last breath. Barbaro’s spirit was never so much measured by trophies, titles, or stadium ovations, as it was by challenges, set backs, and frailties that made him seem empathetically human. Some finish lines are witnessed by adoring crowds and frenzied media while others are witnessed by friends, family, even strangers, who all gather quietly to watch the fading of a true ’spirit’. Barabaro was one of our treasured few to heroically finish crossing over both.

Edgar Prado is one of the finest horseman in the game today. He is an outstanding jockey and a true gentleman of sportsmanship. This combonation of rider and horse will be truly missed.
